Virtue

warning: bad grammar, nonsense babbling about the topic i’m not expert in, just two cents from a random guy on the internet.

context: I’m very immature about this big topic, so I decide to publish some questions and small topics that I’m interested in and also related to this matter, to make it easier to fill my gaps.

Topic A

  • for many people, most of them do good act because of it’s their habit. it’s their comfort zone that if they do, other people will not judge them in bad ways, they will feel better about themselves, they will feel safe because their action meet their “comfort” standard. they got reinforcement by that over and over again, so they do those good action by their feeling, without a second guess, without thinking about it’s consequences, or vision about the bigger picture.
    • this kind of habit might be good for our society, the city became more peaceful when more people have those kind of habits.
  • but I have an uneasy feeling that this might not a “good enough” way for me to live.
  • In my preference, good action must match with good intention, genuine feeling, hope others to be and feel better to be considered “good enough” for me, but that might be a bit too idealistic in our society.

Topic B

  • inspired by this video; Staying Kind in a World That Wants to Break You
  • I watch that clip long time ago and forget most of it’s content, gonna re-watch it later, but, first of all.
  • I want to be kind person, but what does that even mean?
  • base idea: I’m touched-impressed-gratitude by some people’s actions, and want to spread those feeling to others too.
    • hunch: just do things driven by those feeling alone might not considered as a “kindness”.
  • I want to explore more about this concept.

Topic C

  • humanity, kindness, good deed, genuine—these are some of words that related to virtue.
  • want to understand more about the structure of those words’ meaning, to use those word correctly as it’s intended meaning.

Topic D (2025-09-01)

  • Are there any ways for ones to position themselves in the right place so they can remain their genuine and naive self and also not get rekt by that.
    • by luck and moderation, hell yeah, but do we have other ways to increase the odds of that luck?
    • environmental factors? social factors? mindset? god? your mom?
